  Impact on the community: Mental Health problems, affect  a large proportion of the urban population. Mental Health can lead to disabilities, mental disorders have been 7.8% of the, cause of the world’s burden of disease.  The cost of mental health care can be to expensive for some, this lead’s to more people not getting the care they need, causing higher crime, and incarcerations.

Facts: 1 in 5 adults have a mental health condition, that’s over 40 million people.

Youth mental health is worsening rates of youth depression increased from 8.5% in 2017 to 11.1% in 2018.

80% of youth are left with no or insufficient treatment, even with severe depression.

There is a serious mental health workforce shortage in states with the lowest workforce, there is only 1 mental health professional per 100 people.

Less access to mental health care means more incarceration, there are over 57,000 people with mental health conditions in prison and jail.
