A Mother Who Helped Her Kids

By Anthony Blackburn

My mother and I moved from Michigan to Chicago in the Lawndale area when we got a call saying my brother had missed 3 days of school so my mother got very angry ad pulled off we didn’t even get a chance to put the clothes in the new house before she pulled right off and started riding around looking for him.

So she called her friend because her son because her son is with my brother every where he go so when we turned the corner we saw him and when he saw us he turned his head and.

Then got in the car and when he got in she said you think Ima joke I cant wait until we get home so my brother begin to explain his self telling her the reason why he missed the days of school.

SO my mother had stop going off on him and finally let him talk so he said I didn’t go because I was being bullied so my mother apologize for the threats she made.

So she went up to the school the next day and spoke to the principal and told him what my brother told her so the principal told her that he was thankful that she had told him because so many kids had lost there lost there life from being bullied.
So my mother did not even let my brother go back to school for a week so when he finally went back he was nervous but he was no longer being bullied no more but a couples mouths later we found out my mother was sick and we where the only kids.

My mother was helpful and she was a known as the caretaker because even if she didn’t know you she still took you in but we couldn’t do nothing but cry when she passed away.

But when she died she left everything she owned it went to me n my brother and we had never met our father so I was still a little lost but I made it because I couldn’t walk around with that excuse that motivated me to do better so this is my story how me and my brother made it.
