I like all of my classes and all of the projects that I had but my top favorite project was for Mr. Murphy’s class.
In his class I had to work on any type of human body system and the system I picked was Integumentary System (Skin). I liked doing this project because I am fascinated of how the skin works and of how the skin projects the body. For his class I did a power point explaining what the Integumentary System is and the functions of the skin.
The Integumentary system comprises the skin and its appendages acting to protect the body from various kinds of damage. These type of damages are loss of water, and damage of the skin due to sunlight or from the outside. The integumentary system includes hair, scales, feathers, hooves, and nails, the skins also water proof, and it protects the deeper tissues, excrete wastes, and regulate temperature, and is the attachment site for sensory receptors to detect pain, sensation, pressure, and temperature. The most damage that can happen to the skin is the exposure to sunlight.
I really liked working on this project because my mom is a skin care specialist and she studied the skin for many years so it inspired me to study and do research on the skin and see it’s function. I was fascinated by this system and I realized that us humans take little appreciation of it and do not realize how important the human skin is. it made me realize that I should take care of my skin and take care of the many diseases that can come if you don’t take care of it. The Integumentary System is as important as any other system in our bodies.
